FAQ

  • What kind of wax do you use?
We use two different types of wax, both are incredible. For the face and more sensitive areas of the body and Brazilians we use a hard wax that shrink wraps and hardens around the hair and lifts from the skin creating a more comfortable experience. We use a traditional soft wax for larger body areas such as legs, arms, chest, and back and it is removed by using a cloth strip.
  • What is hard wax?
Hard wax is a wax where there is no strip used. Hard wax is mostly used for the Brazilian and underarms
  • What is a soft wax?
Soft wax is gentle enough for the face and eye area, yet strong enough to be used on difficult coarse regions. Soft waxes in certain regions such as the back and legs.
  • How long should my hair be to get waxed?
Your hair should be at least be 1/8 to 1/2 inch long for waxing to be effective. Make sure you have at least 2 to 4weeks of hair growth from the last time you shaved. The longer you wait, the better the results. Please do not trim or cut down wax before appointment. Your esthetician will trim down if need be.
  • How do I prepare for my wax appointment?
We recommend exfoliating the area prior to your appointment. Avoid greasy and heavy lotions or oils.
  • Does waxing hurt?
Everyone has a different scale for pain tolerance and what is painful for someone may not bother someone else. We will offer you the most comfortable service possible. If you’re still worried about managing sensitivity, we recommend taking an ibuprofen or aspirin roughly 30 minutes before your appointment to help maximize your comfort. waxing more frequently will help with sensitivy as hair grows back finer and sparser!
  • I’m pregnant can I still get waxed?
Absolutely. We will do everything we can to make our pregnant clients feel as comfortable as possible during their waxing service.
  • Can I get waxed if I’m taking Retin A, Renova or accutane?
These medications increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates so waxing could potentially remove skin as well as hair. Please let your Esthetican know immediately if you are on any medications. Also be aware that chemical peels, laser, and micro-dermabrasion can also affect skin integrity. There are many medications that affect skin and skin integrity (glycolic acid, lactic acid, benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alpha hydroxyl acid, vitamin A, prescribed exfoliating scrubs, antibiotics, hormonal medications, radiation and/or chemotherapy drugs). Please consult with your physician in regards to any medications and how it may affect your waxing experience. Some brand names to be aware of: Adapalene, Avita, Tazorac Avage, Proactiv(e), Differin, Strivectin.
  • Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
Your hair won’t grow back thicker and darker after waxing, just the opposite! Hair that is removed at the root grows back softer and finer over time.
  • Can I tan before or after a wax?
In order to ensure the most comfortable wax experience, we recommend that you avoid sun exposure for 48 hours before and after your wax.
  • What should I do for after care?
Your skin may be sensitive following your wax. Any red bumps or irritation should subside within a few hours. Make sure to avoid sun exposure, tanning, hot baths, hot tubs, heavy lotions and exfoliation for 48 hours after your service.
  • How do I avoid ingrown hairs?
Avoiding ingrown hairs is easy if you make sure to exfoliate 2-3 times per week. We also offer a variety of products including scrubs, brushes, poufs and oils that can help minimize ingrown hairs.
  • How long does a wax last?
How often you get a wax is slightly dependent on the area, but we recommend waxing every four weeks for the best results.
  • Why should I wax vs shaving, electrolysis, or laser?
When waxed consistently, hair grows back slower, finer and sparser. Shaving cuts your hair, it doesn’t remove your hair—so the quantity and thickness remain the same. Electrolysis and laser hair removal don’t work for everyone, which makes waxing a fabulous universal alternative. Those treatments are also very expensive, which makes waxing a great option.
  • What is sugaring?
It is the act of pulling hair out of the roots with a mixture of sugar, lemon, and water are mixed to create a sticky paste that clings to the hair, effectively removing the hair.
  • How to prepare for my sugaring?
Please do not wear any deodorant, oil, lotions, or any other skincare products on the areas you intend to have sugared.
  • What are lash extensions?
Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are synthetic lashes that are adhered to individual, natural eyelashes. Unlike false or strip lashes, extensions are attached one by one to individual eyelashes and NOT to your skin. Extensions enhance your natural beauty by adding length and fullness to your existing lashes. They allow you to wake up looking radiant and ready to go, without even a swipe of mascara!
  • How long do lash extensions last?
When properly cared for, your eyelash extensions will last until your natural eyelashes fall out as they normally would. Exact timing varies because of genetics and lifestyle, however the average shedding of natural lashes takes place at the rate of two to five lashes per day. To maintain your look, a fill every 2-3 weeks is suggested.
  • Are lash extensions safe?
Yes. When properly applied, eyelash extensions are a safe and convenient alternative to wearing mascara and strip lashes.
  • I've heard eyelash extensions make your natural lashes fall out. Is this true?
No way! When properly applied and cared for, eyelash extensions will not harm your natural lashes. Instead, your natural lash will shed as it normally does, taking the extension with it. A new lash will grow in its place.
  • How do I prepare for my lash appointment?
Come to your appointment with clean eyes. This ensures that your artist can focus on adding lashes and not subtracting makeup.
  • What happens during a full set lash appointment?
You will lay on one of our extremely comfortable beds and I will examine your natural lashes. I will discuss the look you want to achieve and add my professional opinion about what is safe for your natural lashes as well as what will last the longest. I will cover your lower lashes for protection, then begin the process of individually adhering extensions to your natural lashes. This procedure is safe, painless and relaxing. Lash naps are welcomed and encouraged! To conclude, your I will remove the protective covering from your lashes and give you a first look at your new eyes. Your life will be changed!
  • How long will my lash appointment take?
Please refer to the Lash Extension section of the booking page to learn more about appointment lengths.
  • How do I care for my eyelash extensions?
Caring for your extensions is simple! Avoid touching your lashes with your fingers, rubbing your eyes, and allowing excessive sweat to drip down into your lash line. Be gentle with them, and sleep mindfully! Do not curl them, and avoid all oil-based products near your eyes (makeup, makeup remover, sunscreen, etc.). Use your provided cleanser to keep them squeaky clean!
  • Can I wear eye makeup?
Extensions are so remarkable on their own, you will enjoy the fact that you may not need any additional enhancement. After all, our goal is to take the place of your mascara! However, if you just can’t live without your eyeliner or mascara, go ahead. Just make sure it’s water-soluble and oil-free. Oils used in facial and makeup products can loosen the adhesive bond, causing the extension to separate from the natural lash and fall off prematurely. When you remove your makeup, be gentle. Please be advised that even if you choose to wear oil-free makeup, there’s added "wear-and-tear" and a chance that your bonds may still be loosened resulting in premature fallout.
  • What is tint?
Tint is a semi permanent dye made just for your brow hairs to enhance your natural shape. Wherever there is little to no hair the tint will come out lighter and fade in the sparse areas first. For best results, grow in your brows before you come in.
  • How long does tint last?
Everyone is different. It depends on your daily activities and skin type. Remember, the tint is rinse so it fades gradually with each wash, whether its sweat, water, steam, or oil.
  • How do I maintain the tint?
When you wash your face make sure you wash around your brow area to make the tint last longer, do not scrub.
  • What microblading and how does it last?
Microblading is a semi permanent cosmetic procedure lasting 1-2 years. We use a hand held tool to create hair like strokes giving the brows more of a natural filled in look. For clients with little to no hair a 6 week touch up might be required. Our skin takes 25-40 days to completely shed. At 6 weeks you will see the final outcome.
  • Do you allow walk in appointments?
Yes we do! However, we may not always be able to accommodate walk-ins, so booking your service ahead of time is the best way to ensure you’ll get the service you want when you need it.
  • What is your cancellation/no show policy?
Sometimes life gets in the way of your appointment. Try your best to give advance notice if you need to cancel your appointment! Cancelations made less than 24 hours of your appointment will be charged half of service price and No shows will be charged full service price.
